"I quadrupled this recipe and baked a 12" square cake (divided into 3 - 4x12") and had enough batter left over to make about 24 mini muffins too. Amazing recipe, the small cakes and larger one turned out really well. I used slightly less sugar than recommended and used 50/50 light and dark muscovado sugar. I also used 50/50 70% dark chocolate and Green and Black's milk chocolate so that it would be more appealing to the children. The large cake sunk slightly in the centre but nothing too serious and the three slabs stacked well for a novelty fish tank cake. I think next time I will reduce the amount of coffee though, as it tasted a bit too strong. Not cheap but worth the expense for an indulgent treat!"

"Excellent recipe - easy and scrummy. I have had many requests for the recipe and it has earned itself a a place in my 'favourites' file .Great when it comes to special treats, especially good as a thank you pressie for Teachers at the end of term! Be warned though they are addictive and no good if you are watching your post-Christmas over-expanded waistline. Teresa, Somerset"
