"Great recipe and a regular to my menu from now on. However, I substituted the chili flakes with a little under 1tsp harissa, which definately added a *kick* to the soup. Also life is too short to be stood grating carrots - if you're intending to blend the soup at the end, just chop them into small chunks instead! "

"I've now cooked this twice and the recipe is a firm favourite; tasty, special but very easy to make. I've used different sausages each time: venison first time and merguez second time. Am wondering if it would still work with veggie sausages..?"

"A brilliant recipe! I ended up using red wine instead of marsala/sherry, which was fine as a substitute. Lasted me a couple of days and was great for taking into work for lunch."
