"A really great breakfast treat! I made the rolls and kept them in the freezer then for breakfasts I just poped some in the oven for fresh buns. To make it a bit easier, I used 100g of ground almonds instead of chopping up pecans and the filling was lovely."

"This is a great recipe but does need a bit of tweaking. After reading everyone's problem with getting the patties to stick together, I added 2 eggs, and mixed though 5 tbsp of flour so that the final mixture was really sticky. I then rolled the patties in breadcrumbs which I would HIGHLY recommend as the breadcrumbs toasted beautifully in the pan giving a crisp, golden, crunch crust on the outside. I also chilled the patties in the fridge before cooking them and the end result were patties that stuck together and stayed in shape perfectly. I didn't do the tomatoes but served with roast veggies which made for a filling yet healthy dinner."

"A total failure for me! It rose brilliantly in the oven but as soon as it was out for 5 minutes it became a pancake. Granted though, I have never been able to make a good sponge..."

"Really easy and healthy. The sauce needed a bit more though, so may try some of the suggestions here. I added more liquid then cooked it off so the consistency was lovely."

"I feel rather in the minority here! It was ok, but nothing to rave about for me. The treacle only soaked through the very bottom of the sponge and the rest of the cake ended up being rather plain. I served with pouring cream which was very nice."
