"Recipe works well but I left off the icing and served the cake for dessert slightly warmed with cream. I would describe it more as a mince pie-cake rather than an eccles cake-cake. Delicious."

"Yuk! Made this last week and followed recipe to the letter but did not enjoy it and gave the rest to the hens! Definitely better cake recipes on the site. I don't think the rapeseed oil enhances it at all."

"This was delicious! I also had some mixture left over from the loaf tin. Be aware that some tubs of creme fraiche are 250ml which will alter the proportions if you accidently tip it all in (as I did!) but all in all it was delicious and a huge success. "
