"GREAT SUCCESS! Tried these last night. I didn't have smoked paprika in the cupboard so used ordinary and didn't have the parsley either, but they still turned out brilliantly. I am addiing this one to my potato repertoire because it is so quick, easy and tasty. Have a husband who dislikes both pasta and rice (rolls eyes), finding alternative potato recipes that are fuss-free is a real boon. Thank you GoodFood for this one!"

"I agree with Rona. I found this tasteless and lacking. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to cooking this and it looked great but the flavour was just meh and had nothing about it. This one isn't going in my binder!"

"This was great and has gone straight onto our family cake repertoire. I never buy cake - perish the thought - and it's really useful to have a selection of different cakes to make in order to ring the changes as we get through around 2 a week. This is perfect. I didn't have cherry jam so used home-made raspberry, which worked very well."

"Excellent. I served this to a vegetarian friend recently when she came for lunch and it went down very well. It freezes beautifully too."

"I've made this several times and never had any problems. I've used both canned pears and pears from our tree in the garden when we've had a glut. I usually make it to serve as a dessert when we have visitors, but then we finish it off cold as a standard cake until it's gone - which isn't long!"
