Grilled mackerel with soy, lime & ginger

"You are meant to buy fresh mackerel from the fresh fish counter not the packets of smoked mackerel which are already cooked. Very fresh tasting."

"I thought this was absolutely lovely. The blend of spices gave it depth and yet it tasted so fresh. The only thing I changed was the chillies. I used some fresh from the garden so having read a comment from Karoliina I used one small red one and one larger green one. This gave just the right amount of heat. Of course there is bound to be something lacking if you use dried coriander. DRIED CORIANDER? Please. Don't people wait until they have the right ingredients before making a dish? I imagine the basic paste could be made in a larger quantity and frozen since washing up the food processor is a bit of a pain. I will also try other things with the sauce: chicken, prawns, salmon."

"This a good chutney and I have kept it for quite a long time in sterilised jars, but if you want something that is going to keep well try the Sweet Chilli Jam also on the Good Food website. It is a better recipe I think. "

"I agree that confit duck is delicious. You don't need to worry about the fat because duck and goose fat are NOT saturated. I wouldn't use the breasts for confit. It would be better to use them fresh or freeze them for later."

"Tell me: what's the point of making this soup if you don't have tamarind or lentils? It may be good but it's not THIS recipe. Waitrose sells tamarind as do other supermarkets,I'm sure. As for lentils; how about looking at the recipe and making a shopping list? As for the recipe itself; we loved it. It's one I will make again and again."
