Spiced fish & mussel pie

"I had to throw half my mussels away (cracked shells etc.) so added 500g of king prawns - it was too runny and I wonder if adding so many prawns made it so. Anyway, I will definitely make again."

"Very nice - I missed out the potatoes and roasted fresh beetroot and grilled the mackerel instead to warm it up. I replaced the walnuts with sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I also added fresh tomatoes, raw radishes and used watercress/rocket - the peppery taste worked well. "

Spiced carrot & lentil soup

"I wanted something quick and easy to prepare for my 3 year old's tea and this was perfect. Took very little time - required few ingredients and was scoffed. She is quite picky so I ground the roasted cumin seeds before adding so there wouldn't be bits in the final soup, and left out the chilli. Leftovers were enjoyed by the rest of the family later."

Garlic prawns with Asian puy lentils

"I would only give this 3 * but it may be an unfair rating as I didn't follow the recipe exactly. It was still tasty but nothing overly special - I used cooked frozen prawns which gave out of lot of water when I added them to the pan. We don't like coriander so I stirred some fresh baby spinach through the lentils at the end before serving which was very nice. I cooked the lentils in some fish stock which also added a good flavour, and served it all with some crisp shredded lettuce. Will make it again the same way but with big raw tiger prawns next time as I think this might be the key to making it really tasty."

"Delicious! The spinach adds a lovely fresh flavour and texture. Next time I will try adding some other veggies as well - leeks, celery maybe."
