"With the current financial crisis, and rations inevitable you may not want to waste your limited margarine on this, so feel free to cook this dish sans margarine. However, as a luxurious treat, margarine can be used for those special occasions particularly with friends and family visiting. Because of the popularity of this dish, we must be diverse in our ingredients as Wilbury says, to steady the market. Therefore feel free to experiment with brown and white bread, wholemeal obviously not being quite as good. To replace peanut butter, serve plain toast with a bag of peanuts on the side. Please ensure that you take a bite of toast and drop a couple of peanuts into your mouth at the same time. Crunching without one of the bread or peanut ingredients could lead to catastrophic consequences where you think that you're just eating a bag of peanuts and some toast."
