"If you don't do anything else this weekend make sure you make this pudding. It is gorgeous! Looks pretty messy before it is cooked but went down a storm at our Bonfire party served warm with a small helping of vanilla ice cream. Great way of using up all those apples too."

"When I made this cake I asked my family what the secret ingredinent was - my son said "it is made with love because you aways add a little love to your cooking"! Seriously though, it was really easy to make and although we didn't find it too sweet there was a lot of sugar in the recipe. I may leave out the hazelnuts next time as I think they added a bit of a twang but my husband liked the added texture. The icing, however, was luscious! A definite recipe to bookmark for future use."

"I'm really sorry about this comment but, having cooked many really successful meals following recipes from Good Food, this one has been my first complete disaster. I followed the recipe as closely as possible but ended up with an unpleasant mushy mess. Despite using savoury pancakes it had a rather odd sweet twang to it. Not my finest offering to the family!"

"My 8 year old son and I have just had a baking day and have made this parsnip cake (and the coffe crunch cake) for my husband to take to the office for his birthday. Can't wait to hear the feedback on the secret ingredient! It looks, smells and, I have no doubt, will taste wonderful. As the cakes are going to the office I don't think I'll get to taste them ... I'll just have to make them again all for me!!!"
