"Tomm - Apparently you can make your own Dulche de leche by covering a tin of condensed milk with boiling water and boiling it for one and a half hours - keeping the water topped up!!! Hope this helps. "

"I made this cake yesterday, gave it to my husband whilst still warm with a dollop of ice cream, whereupon he told me it tasted just like a suet pudding!! It is a nice cake I agree, BUT rather expensive and the instructions are a bit iffy. The syrup definitely took much longer to thicken, I think that half the amount would have been adequate."

"Unfortunately I wasted four organic lamb steaks on this recipe. I normally cook my lamb steaks for a couple of hours in a very slow oven - when I saw that they had to be cooked for just 30 mins. I was very dubious - I was right - they were as tough as old boots. However, had I done them as I usually do, I think the meal would have been superb."

"I`ve just made this today - made the dough last night and put it in the fridge - I took it out this morning and left it to warm up to room temperature.,which made it easier to mould into the tin, I also used a 23cm ordinary loose bottomed cake tin, as I didn`t have a springform. Unfortunately I was impatient and took it out of the oven after 30 mins and it wasn`t properly cooked, but it is still delicious and my husband has had three pieces already!"
