"My husband and I made this as a joint effort for Valentine's Day, but added a mushroom and Madeira gravy (Claire Macdonald) as we thought it might be a little dry without it. My husband would like to add some pate next time, and I would like to try a different veg than spinach the next time. But definitely would make this recipe again."

"Made this cake as I always have browning bananas. I had to keep checking the recipe because I was sure I must have forgotten to add the butter and sugar! I was able to have a slice without feeling guilty, and it delicious. And my husband loved it too."

"I haven't made this recipe yet, but would like to. Unfortunately, I live in Portugal and feel that pickled walnuts and stout might be a little difficult to get hold of. Also, the recipe does not say how much beef to use."
