Beef & beer pie

"This was easy and delicious. The meat was very tender and the gravy thick and flavoursome. I didn't have a pie dish as such, but instead used a fairly deep glass pyrex dish (about 20cm diameter). The suet pastry was crisp and delicious - I normally only put the pastry on the top of pies as I don't want it to be soggy underneath but this was perfect! Served 4 very generously."

"Made half the recipe and I would say that would comfortably serve 8. Could not find the chipotle paste so I used the chipotle Tabasco instead. I used the same quantity (ie, 2tbsp for half the recipe) and although flavoursome and tasty it was not very spicy (even for me, and I do not like my food especially spicy) so next time I would add another tbsp of Tabasco (or 2 to the full recipe). Apart form that, the beef was soft and just fell apart - a great recipe which is now portioned up in the freezer as another easy meal or two!"

Turkey cacciatore with a twist

"This was easy to make and very tasty. I made it exactly to the recipe and added some grated parmesan to the breadcrumbs for the topping. I will be making it again."

"I used a thermometer but as the fudge was starting to catch quite badly I did not take it up to full temperature. When I added the chocolate it started to set IMMEDIATELY and was quite tricky to even get into the tin! I managed to smooth it out and it is cooling now. It has turned out to be rather grainy but I must admit to preferring this texture to the smooth texture that I have had before. However, I think I wil melt the chocolate next time before adding it as I think that is what caused my problem (as I have done in other chocolate fudge recipes). Have just had a sneaky taste though and although still rather warm it tastes delicious! "

"This was quick, easy and delicious. I used boned thighs as that is what I had, plus I used smoked streaky bacon. This gave the dish a really distinctive and tasty flavour. Also had no parsley so added some dried thyme instead. My only (very small) complaint is that there wasn't a huge amount of sauce and what there was was very thick. I won't add the flour next time, but will add a little water instead to give more sauce. Otherwise - lovely!"
