"Lovely recipe, made these for a camping trip. Didn't bother with gingerman shapes, just fluted round biscuits and topped with crystalised ginger before popping in the oven. Sprinkling of caster sugar once out of the oven and they are good to go."

"I made this for friends, and it was a lovely light way to end a meal. I omitted the strawberry jam but instead made a blackcurrant coulis and served that on top with raspberries. Fab-u-lous!"

"Used cooking apples so not so sweet, but agree with Daz in that there was insufficient crumble to cover the apples (and we only used 6 apples not 8!) maybe double the crumble mixture?"
