"Perfect! Just add more or less of what we feel like on the day... more cheese or garlic dependant on how we feel. Thinking of adding some parsley and seeing how that tastes too! 5* recipie, quick easy and delicious!"

Garlic chilli chicken with cardamom rice

    Tested

"Tried this using chicken breast as my partner won't eat meat off the bone. We adjusted the receipie and basically blended the onion, garlic and chillies together before the frying (it's easier and quicker this way and makes for a thicker sauce.) We also added ground corriander to the onion mixture whilst frying to give it more taste. However on tasting it whilst cooking we felt it was missing something? We added 2 chicken stock cubes and then also cheated as were in a rush and added a couple of tsp of balti curry paste. This did the trick and gave it much more taste. Was good after the adjustments!"

"I adjusted the recipie slightly. I made it so it feels naughty, but still almost as healthy. I dont like tomato based sauces (i like the bad creamy ones!), so I followed the receipie but crushed 2 cloves of garlic into the oil at the start with some chilli falkes for a kick. I then followed the recipie but when simmering added some low fat greek yougurt, some more sugar, some tomato ketchup and some extra puree. Tastes fab and has a nice creamy texture :) Don't need exact measurments, just add a little at a time until it tastes right for you. Don't be put off by the initial sour yogurt, just add more of the others till it tastes scrummy to you! I also added the basil so it is more of a creamy tomato and basil sauce."

"This actually was very quick and simple to do... perfect for my shift work! I changed the recipie slightly to make it a little tastier. When I heated the butter, I actually added some ghee which adds a lovely taste to it. If you are worried about the fat content why not substitute the butter for half fat margarine and then add the ghee... it works out to the same as if you used just butter and tastes really good! I also chopped half a green chilli and a clove of garlic and fried this in the butter with the onion and whole spices. I added more stock than the recipie states as it makes the rice nice and gloopy with a kind of curry sauce (so its not too dry.) I had no balti paste in so used korma instead. The end result was delicious!"

    Festive golden five-spice chicken

    Tested

"This went down a treat with the fiancee. He even took the left overs for lunch the next day. He doesn't eat meat off the bone, so I substituted the bone meat with chicken breast. I simply used a whole packet of chopped and prepared chicken breast from asda and then used the same quantities with all the ingredients mentioned above. I added a lot of chilli powder to the mixture on cooking as he likes some extra spice in his food. He liked it very much, I thought the taste seemed very strong. Depends on what kind of foods you like I suppose. All in all, he said to me quote 'this is a new favourite. not for all the time but once every few weeks it will be nice!'"
