Muffin-topped winter beef stew
41 comments
"Made this for Sunday lunch last week, so left the stew in the slow cooker all morning. Stew tasted FAB, will defintaley be making again. At the last minute decided to make the muffin topping and although it looked great when it came out of the oven and had a great taste, it was a bit stodgy when cooked ontop of the stew. My husband loved the topping (he loves a bit of stodge!), but I think I may try baking the topping as individual cheesey muffins to serve alongside a bowl of the stew next time...I think the kids would prefer it this way too :)"

Ultimate apple pie

"My big Sis made this for dessert on Sunday...and it was great. She used slightly less sugar in the filling...okay, okay, she totally forgot to add the sugar (hehe!), but it still tasted great. Will be requesting this again next time we get an invite...with perhaps a wee bit of sugar (not the full amount). Thanks Kim :)"

"My new favourite Chilli recipe!!! So simple, great taste :) Made a double batch (froze 1/2 for a busy day!) and then simmered away in my slow cooker for a few hours to really bring out the flavours...YUM! I used a nice thick passata instead of chopped tomatoes (not keen on tinned chopped tomatoes!), so cut down on the water to compensate. My 5 year old said it was better than her Auntie Kim's :)"

"It's bubbling away in the wok as I type (didn't like the microwave idea either!)...so quick, simple and fresh tasting. Less gloopy (that's a good thing!) than takeaway and better than any jar. Added some baby sweetcorn too. A definite "will make again"!"
