Easy wreath cake
1 comment
"A different slant on decorating the cake instead of the usual figures and frill. It was easy to achieve though I suggest handling the cranberries with tweezers as it makes them easier to dip and coat. I was also able to use the bay leaves from the two trees that my husband had bought me for my birthday - the main reason for giving the idea a go. Another tip if you haven't worked this sort of icing before smooth it out by dipping the knife into a mug of boiling water from time to time. It will make it easier to work and give a very smooth surface."

"Quick and easy as promised but I felt it could have done with a bit more zip - not exactly bland but it did seem to lack something in the taste department. That said it was enjoyable especially after a long day and a distinct lack of enthusiasm for anything taxing."

"Very tasty - quick to prepare and little washing up! A squeeze of lemon juice instead of the soy sauce also gives it a lift for a change."

"Great success - the kids loved it. Easy Saturday tea. I added the kidney beans as suggested in GOOD FOOD mag which bulked it out. The garlic bread was nice and squidgy and am tempted to add a few chilli flakes instead of powder next time to spice it up a little more. Definitely going to do this again whatever."

"I just love this recipe. I like anchovies and the saltiness adds to the flavours. I do grill a couple of rashers of bacon until crispy and sprinkle the bits over with the parmesan shavings. It is a meal I do quite often - winter or summer."
