"Great dinner party starter, so quick and easy to make, all done in advance. Very tasty, served it with some lovely wholegrain breads from local deli. Thought the portion sizes in this recipe were a bit small, was cooking for 6 and used this recipe which says it's for 8 and the portions weren't huge. It's quite rich so you don't need loads but when serving guests don't want to look stingy."

"Fantastic sauce, really restauranty, made it for a dinner party and everyone loved it. Couldn't get venison so I used duck which went really well, but if you are using duck make sure that you drain off some of the fat before making the sauce as it's much fattier than venison, thankfully I thought of that before putting the balsamic in the pan!"
