Nourishing Chicken Soup

"Hello Katrina, I'd like to try your recipe but I have a couple of questions. What can I substitute a pressure cooker? Is pearl barley easy to find in supermarkets? My boyfriend is not partial to celery - can I substitute that with anything else? I hope I haven't completely ruined the recipe asking all these questions! :)"

Flat apple & vanilla tart

"I made this as a special treat for my boyfriend who is a HUGE apple fan and he loved it. The apricot jam is a must to complete the taste. This dessert is lovely served with vanilla ice cream."

"I made this for my Sunday dinner this evening with new potatoes and broccoli. I too used puff pastry instead of shortcrust and it came out fine. I don't think I've ever had Salmon en croute with shortcrust. The sauce was great and I froze the rest to use on other dishes at a later date - it would go perfectly on normally grilled salmon. I made the sauce with Watercress and spinach as suggested but skipped the rocket. Whizzed it in a food processor with cream cheese, black pepper, two cloves of garlic, all purpose seasoning and one quarter of lemon juice. Tasted wonderful. In addition to putting some on the croute, when the new potatoes were cooked, I spooned some of the mixture over the potatoes before serving all up. Yum!"

"I made the meatballs from scratch a day before with mince and left in the fridge to set. Fried them then cooked the pasta separately. I left the pine nuts out altogether and was please with the result. Nice dish!"
