    Red cabbage with balsamic vinegar & cranberries

    "This wins my vote over Red Cabbage & Apple, any day! Simple to prepare and to make, yet completely scrummy either hot or cold with cold cuts & pickles. Delicious with Corned Beef Pie or Pork Pies, too. I may never make the apple version again!"

    Deep-dish cheese, onion & potato pie

    "I have a few recommendations for this recipe - the first being "never make this for a husband who hates potato, even though he cheerily announces "I love Cheese & Potato Pie!", it just won't work". The second being "if you're stuck for time, make something else" and the last being "let the pie rest until the moisture from the creme fraiche has disappeared". "

    Slow-cooked celeriac with pork & orange

    "I made this at the beginning of the week. I liked it, but my husband and son didn't - largely because the flavour of orange overtook everything. I didn't object to that, but then we're all different. I cooked mine in the slow cooker, which worked fine.     Gooseberry cream & elderflower jelly pots

    "Having made these, yes, I imagine it is correct Caroline. But then, with double cream and elderflower cordial, you wouldn't really expect it to be anything else! What I would say about these pots is that they are a true delight. Just make sure that you don't do what I did and make extra jelly. It's glorious stuff, but too much just adds too much sweetness. I made half the amount given, but I would say that it could have fed four instead of three. A little goes a long, long way with this one!"
