"Hmmn. The Nasi Goreng that my Malay friend's Mum used to make contained both prawns and chicken. I wonder if its one of those recipes that differs depending on a) what you've got available and b) which family is cooking it!"

"I have come to the conclusion that I really dislike smoked paprika. Having said that, I really liked this dish. I would make it again, but with ordinary (unsmoked) paprika to suit my personal taste. My 10yr old son loved it too and ate every bit. However, there is one fly in the ointment which is that the tomato sauce turned out to be far too acidic for my poor hubby's tum. He hated the recipe and felt opening a can of baked beans would be far preferable. So, there you are. You can't please everyone all of the time! LOL"

"Jane's Kitchen : the only way to make them gluten free is to make the pastry yourself (I don't see why shortcrust wouldn't work just as well, as making Puff is a pain in the butt). If you're based in the U.K., then Doves Farm (they have a website) make a selection of gluten free flours which are great! Good luck!"
