"Made this as a starter for a birthday menu. Simple to prepare ahead and very tasty. Served with a broad bean bruschetta sitting on one side of the asparagus and made another small parcel for the other side with a folded piece of proscuitto topped with mozarella, tomato and basil to make a little pick me up bundle. Looked very impressive and tasted lovely. Would definitely make again."

Steak with mushroom puff tartlets

"This was a simple receipe but looked quite impressive. My steaks were quite thick so cooked for 3 minutes per side which was perfect for a medium steak. I made this using the port but I found it was too sweet for my taste and will use brandy next time as commented above. I also added more cream than the recipe states, about 4 tbsp. I used 150g of puff pastry as 100g just didn't seem enough and once rolled out can't be scrunched up and rolled again as it won't rise. I think the basic recipe is good but I think most people would probably tweak it a bit for their own preference."

"A very cheap and tasty meal. I also used fresh veg, I think with this recipe you can mix and match veg to suit your taste. I also used more curry paste but again that is down to individual taste. I left out the raisins as I am not a great fan. A nice recipe to give meat a miss for a meal."

"Makes a very tasty lunchtime dish. The chicken works well in place of the traditional duck."
