Cherry vodka

"Put the whole lot into the bottle: juices, cherries, sugar and vodka. The whole idea is that the heat releases the juice, if not it would just be vodka with cherries floating in it! Nice, but not AS nice! Enjoy."

Strawberry jam

"Mine was way to sweet and ended up tasting like strawberry syrup. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I used Spanish strawberries rather than British ones, or that I not only left the fruit in the sugar overnight, but didn´t actually make the jam until the following afternoon. Next time I might try to use "double pectin" jam sugar and that way only use half the amount of sugar to let the fruit shine through."

"Wonderful! Particularly with Spanish "picota" cherries which are now in season. I made this year's batch a couple of weeks ago and it's so popular I have bought more cherries to make even more jam to give to friends! I will probably chop up more of the cherries though."

Cherry vodka

"I've just made this year's new batch...and had to finish last year's batch to make room for it. Ie. it will keep in the fride perfectly for a year. I even bottled it into decorative bottles as gifts...even up to Christmas (if it lasts that long!). A brilliant recipe. Only one thing: stone the cherries first - I hear that the stones are poisnous (and it gives you something to happily chew on once you have finished your drink!). Enjoy!!"
