"Made this in two small logs rather than a ring, turned out amazing. Yes, it was difficult to seal around the marzipan, but who cares about the cosmetics when the taste is so good?! The recipe was fairly easy despite the number of ingredients, and highly enjoyable to make. Went down a storm as a Christmas Eve snack and a gift. Highly recommended recipe."

"I'm not a fan of wasabi so instead of the mash, I steamed a few greens. I agree with Andrew, it's really worth heating up and reducing the marinade - I poured a little over he tuna and mied a little with the veggies - gorgeous! Particularly good if you roll the edges of the steak in black or white sesame seeds just before serving."

"I made a variation on this recipe using skinned, head-and-tail-less tiger prawns using about a tbsp of ground schezuan pepper, a good grinding of rock salt and a touch of grated ginger. Made this up off the top of my head when making an oriental starter, and it went down a storm. The most important thing to remember is DON'T overcook the prawns - they are best when just cooked and still incredibly juicy."

"I've made a similar side dish using spinach/pak choi and brocolli, using a little oyster sauce in addition to the soy. Makes a lovely side dish to any oriental-style meat, such as five-spice chicken or crispy beef."

"I am not a fan of blue cheese I have to say....would it be possible to use Cheddar (the love of my life) instead of Stilton?"
