"wow, these are fab! i followed the recipe to a T and they came out brilliantly. they're so light and yummy! tip: to prevent overmixing, stir in the blueberries to the dry ingredients before adding the buttermilk/egg/banana. probably one of the best recipes i've ever made on this site, i will def be making again. thanks! (and thanks to PP for the buttermilk recipe, too)"

"...or, you could just caramelise the sugar and add the remaining ingredients. i tried it according to the instructions above and it was a disaster - adding 'the rosemary' meant all the caramel stuck to the rosemary sprigs and the butter formed an oily film on top. i threw that lot out and tried again, adding all the ingredients after the caramel stage and it was lovely (and although my pears weren't cooked as above, looked impressive rather than insipid)."

"sorry, but needing a recipe to show how potted shrimps could be made into a tasty snack by spreading on toast means a serious lack of imagination!! i clicked on this hoping to find out how to actually make potted shrimp. is there a proper recipe on this site somewhere?"

"gorgeous! i used half plain dark choc and half orange-infused, and added orange zest at the sugar/egg stage. i baked for 50 minutes and had a slice warm, which was surprisingly fluffy and light - more like a cake. however, the rest of the tray settled down to fudgy brownies when completely cold.....best of both worlds! i also used a bain-marie to melt butter/choc and beat the eggs and sugar until thick and fluffy. didn't top, though. would make again!"
