Classic scones with jam & clotted cream

"I never, ever, ever add salt to my scones and I think they are the best in the world! I am glad that you do not advocate rolling out the mixture with a rolling pin. Delia taught this years ago and I have always followed her suggestion. Great idea about the warm milk, must try that."

"No, sorry, I don't think it would be suitable for diabetics with the syrup content which would be high in sugar, plus the 3 tbsp of light muscavaco and then even to add low fat yoghurt is not a good idea for good diabetes control. My nurse would freak out if she saw this recipe as being suitable for diabetics! Maybe as a one off special treat, ok!"

"I'm a bit concerned about swirling round the boiling water! Thanks for the salt idea rather than the vinegar. I too find that it overwhelms the flavours but otherwise, great recipe!"
