"Great recipe. The sponge was really really easy to make and tasted really delicious. We tried to make them into robins, using smarties. It didn't really work, so they just became ugly bugs. They still looked good. (Used Betty Crocker chocolate frosting as I was in too much of a rush to make my own. Tasted lovely.)"

"This recipe is just FAB. Some of the luke warm reviews had put me off baking it. This was time wasted - my kids want me to cook this every week. Very easy to throw together - I used Olivio instead of butter because I didn't have time to let it soften. It tastes lovely - in a no nonsense apple pie sort of way - except instead of pastry there is lovely light and golden sponge. And it cut beautifully. I didn't bother with spices, simply because I was in too much of a rush. I didn't miss them at all. The apple (plain old Bramleys) tastes absolutely lovely."

"This is the best vegetarian recipe I've made from the Good Food Website. Just fabulous. I used feta instead of goat's cheese, and added some mushrooms to the roast veg mix. The mixture of flavours and textures is fantastic. It looks really good as well. I ate mine warm as opposed to hot because I had to go out. Still tasted great."

"Easy to make and held their shape fine on the BBQ. But the taste was dull - I used best steak mince and added a shot of worcester sauce, but still found these bland."
