    Layered houmous, tabbouleh & feta picnic bowl

    "This was a great success. I made it for a picnic which we eventually ate at home but the salad was so fully enjoyed by there wasn't any leftovers for my lunch the following day! great combo of flavours and textures. I also added more garlic and lemon juice than was detailed in the recipes to add more flavour and made my own hummous"

    "By the way - any suggestions as an alternative to Golden Syrup. I live in the US and while I can buy golden syrup, i have to go out of my way to find it. I realized that i omitted the tbsps of water and added less sugar, which would obviously make a difference to the mixture, and had a i read all the comments and ratings before I made them, I would've noticed this beforehand and avoided my initial frustration with the dryness of the mixture. This is why I love this website because I learn from the errors of others - except, Ha, ha, not if I don't read them!!!"

    "I used Jumbo oats and added chopped apricots but found the mixture to be too friable initially. i added some water to the mixture which allowed me to form the mixture into balls. this worked out better. they taste good. "

    "We loved these and my teenage daughter, who has never eaten oatcakes before, devoured these and has become an oatcake lover as a result. She continues to prompt me to make these again - so I will. I made them with cranberries, chopped crystallized ginger and plain. All were good but the cranberries were probably the best."

    "I have made this cake a number of times and it has always been incredibly moist and quite delicious with the chocolate and hazelnuts adding texture. i didn't add the jam topping as i felt this would be too sweet. i also typically add less sugar than recipes require as i don't like over sweet cakes."
