Double chocolate shortbreads

"Delicious and easy. I make mine with white chocolate chunks for the colour contrast, and the fact that you can freeze some of the batch makes it ideal -I can keep the biscuit jar topped up with minimal effort. Good recipe for anyone new to home baking. Don't worry if the dough crumbles - it will cook out fine."

Limoncello & raspberry semi-freddo

"I serve this in slices, rather than bringing it to the table whole - just lay a slice on each plate, scatter with the raspberries and drizzle with the sauce. I also start by lining the tin with one long thin piece of baking parchment which overlaps both ends. so that you can use it as a handle to ease it out of the tin if you need to. Easy yet impressive dessert, always goes down well. Thumbs up!"

Birthday bug cake

"Having NEVER made a home-made birthday cake before I made this for my niece's 12th birthday. I really enjoyed doing it - not too difficult and I got to eat the leftover buttons and matchmakers! It went down a treat - if (like me) you've always just bought birthday cakes from the supermarket give this a go, it's easy and you get great satisfaction from doing it. Lucie Flint, Henlow Beds"
