"This was absolutely gorgeous and it is a good job as I have so much filling left! There is no way I could have fit it all in a 23cm tin. I will make up another batch of pastry tomorrow to use it up. I'm guessing there is enough for another 20cm tart"

"Halved the recipe to serve two of us, used a little oil instead of butter and left out the wine. Very tasty, easy and cheap to make, and will definitely make it again."

"After reading previous comments I only used 180g sugar! Would use the same again next time. Only took 45 mins in my fan oven. I soaked the coconut in a little milk before cooking. The squares were absolutely delicious, lovely and moist. Will definitely be making again, and so easy to do too."

"Fantastic recipe. Only made creme brulee once before from a Delia recipe and dare I say it, this is better! Took 30 mins in oven to only have a slight wobble so I was worried they had overcooked but they were perfect with a lovely texture. I used a teaspoon of sugar on each for caremelising."

"Made this twice in as many weeks. Very easy and cheap to put together. Didn't find it too oily although cakes made with oil instead of butter do have a different texture. Decided to make in a ring mould and it turned out very well, with the same baking time. Looks nice in this shape with the icing on the top and dripping down the sides. Keeps extremely well. My mother-in-law even asked for the recipe - praise indeed!"
