Creamy smoked haddock & saffron kedgeree

    Tested

"I followed this recipe exactly but tripled the quantities. I have now made it four times for large brunch gatherings and it has generally been well received... and the plates cleared. My husband says that it has now converted him to kedgeree which was no small undertaking. I used haddock loin to avoid having to debone large quantities of haddock"

Imam bayildi with BBQ lamb & tzatziki

    Tested

"I have cooked this twice and have been really disappointed with the lack of depth of flavour of the aubergine dish Even added a bit of tomato puree to the ripe tomatoes second time around whilst cooking to try to bring out a bit more flavour. Perhaps the cinammon needs to be freshly grated? Don't know. But do like the chops cooked this way and sprinkled with lemon at the end."

Asparagus mousse with ham & red onion salad

    Tested

"This was a great prepare ahead starter. I cannot pretend that it was speedy to make. Partly my fault as my liquidiser is small and I had doubled the ingredients for an 8 person dinner party. The milk seemed to take forever to reduce too. But it looked wonderful in recycled glass margarita glasses and I only had to pop the salad topping on when about to serve. Not a morsel was left so I think my guests would endorse the four stars awarded."

"Have made for Christmas every year since it appeared in the magazine. A great staple with the wow factor and plenty left over to have on Boxing Day. Over the years I have made it with dried cranberries (when I discovered the fresh, which I had bought too early, had gone off) and with fresh. Large fresh did not cook properly, small fresh were okay but I have to say dried work just as well, don't leak, and aren't as hard to deal with. Have prepared a day in advance but never frozen. Will try this for Christmas 2011 if I have freezer room. Great recipe - thank you GF."

"Made this for a local residents' supper as one of my contributions to the buffet table. Seemed to go quickly and got lots of compliments. As it was the first time making the recipe I followed it exactly and it worked out well."
