"As others have said... this tasted delicious - but the vast amount of washing up (pan to poach the fish, pan to make the mash, jug to measure the milk, pan to make the sauce, dish to bake it all in, and a pan to boil a few peas) will put me off making it again. It does also have that huge amount of butter! However, if the washing up doesn't put you off, just make sure your baking dish is big enough. Mine was just a tad too small... so now I'm off to do the washing up AND clean the oven! The pie was a pleasure to eat though! I used a mix of salmon, pollack and smoked haddock which was being sold by my local supermarket as a 'fish pie mix' and it worked well."

"Made this last night, but wasn't all that keen. I had bought 'ripe and ready to eat' pears but they were still VERY firm and took ages to cook. I wasn't convinced about the pears/ricotta/cinnamon combination, although I had previously thought it would work well and the recipe had received rave reviews from so many others. Maybe it was just the pears I used. However, I don't think I'll be making this again."

Parmesan broccoli

"I wasn't sure about this... didn't really like the idea of frying the cooked broccoli in butter - but it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be making again, and will make a point of topping broccoli with parmesan (with or without the butter) in future as the combination works so well."

"Made it last night for the first time and everyone loved it, even my mother who doesn't like olives! It's an impressive dish on the table which is very tasty to eat and very simple to cook. I served it with 'Mustard-crusted new potatoes' and 'Parmesan Broccoli' which were also delicious (both recipes can be found on the website)."
