    "I used apple juice instead of orange and it worked really well with the plums and cinnamon. Loved the flaked almonds in the crumble! Will make sure I always use those when making crumble in the future. However, I also used one large dish instead of individual ones as I wanted to serve a choice of cream or custard."

    "This was my first ever attempt at making a Christmas cake... and I am feeling extremely chuffed! I made the cake (with pecans rather than the suggested macademia nuts) and then covered it with marzipan and icing. The resulting cake was far better than I had ever hoped and 100% delicious! I've sampled a couple of other cakes this Christmas, but am smugly ashamed to admit that I much prefer mine! And it was an absolute doddle to make! "

    "I didn't use lemon (mainly because I completely forgot to buy one) however, with or without, I found this dish very disappointing. It was easy to make - but very bland to eat. If not lemon, it certainly needs something to pep it up a bit. Maybe cider instead of potato water in the sauce? I won't be adding this receipe to my binder!"
