"I was so looking forward to making this after the rave reviews but even though I followed the recipe to the letter, it was the most bland, tasteless thing I've ever done! I couldn't taste the apples, there was plenty of sauce but certainly not toffee tasting and the pudding itself had no taste. First time I've ever had leave a negative review on here, back to the drawing board on my search for a dinner party pudding!"

"I adore doughnuts and this recipe seemed to cut out some calories by baking rather than frying. Very easy to make, came out lovely and golden. I used blueberry jam so I suppose you could use any flavour you fancied. Much lighter than a muffin but not quite a doughnut taste but very moreish anyway! Will definitely be making these again!!"

"A nice change from the usual fruit and cheese scones I usually make. Handy for lunchboxes and snacks. Tasty hot or cold. I didn't have any feta so used some Wensleydale and they were fine. I think this recipe could be altered and adapted to suit individual tastes with no problems. Thumbs up from me!"

"Made these again with my 7 year old daughter and they were perfect. This time I used slightly less buttermilk and they were easier to roll out, kind of like scones. Needless to say, they were gone within minutes of them coming out of the oven! My other daughter and I are making another batch this afternoon."

"I liked this recipe a lot, particularly the lovely nutty topping. I halved everything for 2 people and added a little garlic into the sauce and used marsala wine instead of sherry and it was scrummy. I'd be tempted to add a little more marsala and mustard next time just to add more flavour though."
