"Made this one last year, it does take longer than 50mins, and i found that it looked redder the longer it simmered for (I may have also bashed one or two of the whole cranberries in the hope that they would transfer colour!) It is an exceptionally tasty chutney, and made lovely pressies tied with a pretty ribbon and vintage christmas tag. One word of warning- anyone hoping it will create a lovely christmassy smell in your home will be disappointed- the cider vinegar scent is overwhelming!"

"This is very simple and lovely as a smart dessert. I would use a little more orange juice next time, as I thought the figs dried out a bit. The mascarpone is well worth doing- one of the nicest dessert accompniments I've tried, very melt-in-the-mouth. Yum!"

"Also found that the scones didn't rise at all, and I was left with something far more biscuit like. Didn't use buttermilk, I tried the milk and lemon idea, I wonder if this is what stopped it working so well?"

"Hubby was extremely sceptical about what is essentially peas on toast! however, it made a really tasty, different lunch, that we both very much enjoyed for a couple of days. Will definitly make again."
