Asparagus soldiers with a soft-boiled egg

"Absolutely loved this. I used sweet smoked paprika and thyme for the breadcrumbs, which was fab! Also served with a poached egg instead of soft boiled which had the advantage of giving the yolk more of a chance to combine with the lovely lovely breadcrumbs! Both of which complimented the asparagus perfectly without overpowering it. Lovely weeknight supper."

"Tried this one over the weekend. Didn't realise until after buying the ingredients, that a deep-fat frier was needed, which I don't have! Had to improvise a little using Jon Torode's recipe also on this website, but we were thrilled with the results. It was my first venture into frying in this manner, but once I got the temperature just right, the results were beautiful! The sauce is delicious too. Definitely give this one a try!"

"This is fab, so warming and also very filling and can be thrown together quickly from store cupboard ingredients! Only change was to use one fresh green chilli in place of the chilli flakes. "

"I didn't find this one bland at all. It's the garlic and chilli which really make it! Don't scrimp! I found this one preferable to a take-away version, less oily and with more prounounced flavours! A lovely quick weeknight supper."
