"This recipe is very similar to a family favourite of ours which substitutes the tabasco sauce for a teaspoon of tomato and garlic puree and a good dollop of both red and brown sauce. Add carrots and sweetcorn and it tastes delicious. Parsnip and potato mash made with finely chopped potato and parsnip parboiled for only 10 minutes then mashed with a little butter and cream is the perfect accompaniment. Try Paul Rankins mince recipe with red wine from the ordinary bbc recipe site for a fancier version of this. It's gorgeous too."
