"A very useful recipe. Took others advice on the amount of lentils and used 150g, the result was still a bit soupy. Will try with cauliflower rather than parsnip next time."

One-pot chicken & chickpea pilau

"Easy family supper. Made it exactly as per recipe first time, nice and lemony but a little lacking in flavour. Today I added 1tsp of ground corainder and left our garlic (going dancing tonight!) and added 1/2 a red pepper that needed using up - tasty. This will def' be a regular in our house as it's simple, versatile, light on the washing up and the kids (5&8) love it. "

Gingery Christmas cake

"Lovely moist cake. However I did make a couple of changes as I was doubtful that it would be gingery enough for me. I added 2 tsp of ground ginger instead of one and 50g of chopped stem ginger."

"You can substitute sunflower oil for the butter (not necessarily lower in fat but healthier) and use low fat yoghurt."
