"Great for using up those oddments you have left in the fridge at the end of the week - done this several times and never had the same combination twice. Always goes down well though."

"My son made this in no time at all without a food processor. He was a bit worried that the butter and sugar would not cream very well by hand with the large volume of sugar to butter but once the other ingredients were added it was better. He made the batter without the lemon juice about an hour ahead and then added the lemon juice and beat the egg whites just before he was ready to cook it. The result was great and we will definitely make this again."
