"Lovely and simple. Made a big square one for a dinner party. Flavours were lovely. However, I wasn't sure if the base was cooked, and popped in back in for a few extra minutes. Only concern was it looked a bit pale compared t the picture. Any suggestions."

"Made this last night for a dinner party, trippled the quantities and ended up leaving it to cook for 4hrs - oops. Everyone loved the multi level of flavours, the pork (tenderloin) was beautiful and the plums fell to pieces. The 11 yrs old loved it too, I guess from previous comments because the plums sort of vanished into the cooking. Absolute winner, will definitely make again and this time with correct cooking times."

"What a lovely cake. Even my fussy non-banana & non-nut eating husband & son loved it. I served it fresh from the oven as a pudding and it went down a storm. So much so, 2nd's & 3rd's soon followed. Although this is an easy recipe, it is a little fussy to make, using several different bowls in the process. The top did burn, even though I checked it as suggested. Will check it much sooner next time. The next day the cake still tasted moist and lovely. It gives you an idea of the size of the cake, big and generous enough for people to take extra helpings and still half the cake remains !"
