"I recommend using Passata instead of whole tomatoes, that way no pips and no need to sieve. I used a plain passata with no added extras and it was great. Also I served it as a main course and added chilled tiny prawns in a heap on top before serving."

"The kitchen smelt lovely! I popped the cake in the Aga simmering oven for 5 hours and it came out beautifully. It was really easy to make."

Granny Martin's Christmas puddings

"I made these in the Aga, and they cooked overnight for 12 hours in the simmering oven. This made it extremely easy and you don't have to top up the water. They were a beautiful dark colour when I took them out (the longer you steam the darker the colour). The recipe makes x 2 2.2 pint bowls and then 1 smaller pudding. Can't wait to try them!"

"Absolutely delicious. I made it in a 1lb tin in the Aga roasting oven and covered it with foil for the last 15mins of cooking. It was so dense and moist and stayed fresh for days wrapped in cling film in a tin. I also didn't bother with the topping, lovely!"

"Not sure what I did wrong, but this recipe was bland and remained very liquidy even after lots of boiling down. I could not get the thyme even with 4 fresh sprigs."
