"I made this recipe last year as part of a Christmas hamper. Whizzing the figs to a paste wasn't easy in my blender, as I had to keep pushing the mix down & had to add a little water. But this probably depends on how dry the figs are, as they seem to vary greatly. I got 24 small balls from half the recipe and they were gorgeous (and all eaten by boxing day!) I've made more this year and hopefully I'll have enough left by Christmas to give away as gifts!"

"I tried this recipe for the first time the other day & I'm very impressed. I didn't quite believe I'd have the sauce layer like in the picture - but it worked perfectly & was absolutely gorgeous. Not too stodgy to have after a meal, but enough to leave you wonderfully satisfied. It also kept well in the fridge & reheated fine in a low oven (not that we had much left over!)."

"I tried this recipe for the first time yesterday, and I think I may become addicted! After reading the comments - I reduced the butter down to 50g. The friands still had loads of flavour and great texture, so i might try reducing it even further next time. My only problem is that my muffin tin is a little too large. Does anyone know where I can buy a friand tin?!"
