"This looked pretty, but my family thought it tasted a bit boring and plain. We made it a second time and added a packet of chocolate chunks to the mixture before dividing it in two. We also added some brown sugar to the top of the cake half way through cooking, as someone else suggested. It was very successful and we'll certainly be making it again."

"This is delicious! I've made lemon cakes in the past, but this is the best recipe I've found. I agree with other comments that 45-50 minutes is certainly sufficient cooking time."
