"To add to my above comment, this cake was absolutely delicious on the day it was made, but did not keep well. We decided to eat it as a pudding with cream as it was too soggy after a day or two in the tin."

"Made with frozen mixed berries, and made the cake mixture in the food processor, and it turned out fantastic. Didn't need to cook for longer than stated, but I think my gas oven is on the hot side. Only thing I found, there wasn't enough cake mixture and berries to layer by thirds, I just put half the mixture in, then berries (still frozen) and the other half of the mixture. "

"Like Tilly, I used the Delia one step white sauce method, putting the butter, flour and milk cold into the pan, and then whisking as it cooks for six minutes. Also I added some dolcelatte to the top with the grated cheese before grilling, and I think this gave it that extra something. And used wholemeal pasta which made it feel a bit healthier, and gave it a slightly rougher texture. All in all, turned out a lot better than I'd imagined when I saw the recipe. "

"Pancakes were ok, but I found the sauce really sticky and cloying - sure the 1 tablespoon of tomato puree must be a mistake? I had to throw mine away and eat them with Thai sweet chilli sauce - and I never ever throw food away! Would make again but add chopped chillis to the pancake, and make a lighter vinegar and chilli sauce to go with it."
