"I made this with just one red pepper and added cumin as suggested by Donna D (thanks for the tip!). I found it really tasty and I'm going to have mine on my home made bread made with half spelt flour/half white. Yum!"

"Made two of these now. The first one was the best though I made the topping with icing sugar by mistake. The second cake split whilst baking and sank in the middle a bit. It also needs a bit longer than 45 minutes. The fault could be mine as I have a fan oven and I have to allow for this for baking, especially. Nice cake, though, and keeps for days wrapped in foil."

"I've just made this cake for a family get together and it has turned out marvellously. I haven't made a sponge cake for so long I wasn't sure about it. I baked it in two tins so it took less time to bake in my fan oven (about 40 mins). I shall decorate the cake later on and I know it won't look like the picture! If the family like it I'll make it for birthdays and Christmas and Easter..."

"I love this recipe. I have just made my third batch. I make enough for a week for two of us at a time. It is so much better than bought cereal breakfasts; I don't think I will be buying ready made stuff again. I have passed the recipe onto friends and relatives."
