"I made this for a family roast lunch and it was amazing. I loved the simplicity of it. I cooked it earlier and then reheated it while the yorkshire puddings were cooking. The family loved it. I will definitely make this again. It was so nice that my daughter and I had it for lunch the next day. Heaven."

"This seemed pretty easy and straight forward. But despite the chicken being succulent, the overall taste was of salt. I kept wondering if there was just too much soy sauce. I did the recipe exactly as stated and am a proficient cook, so what went wrong. I quite like things salty but this was over the top. Has anyone else found this with this recipe and altered it to make it a winner."

Braised lamb shanks with crushed herb potatoes

    Tested

"This indeed was very easy. Did the preparation, put in the oven and went off to read a book for a couple of hours. The lamb was meltingly soft and very rich. The gravy was very vinegary and i added some red current jelly to take the edge off. I don't know whether next time I would either use red wine vinegar or actually some stock instead of the balsamic. I had to use gluten free flour to dust the lamb shanks and the gravy was quite thin despite reducing over a high heat. I will definitely try this again but modify to suit as I felt this was excellent value for money for something so good."

    Stick-to-your-ribs tartiflette

    Tested

"This was fantastic. Yes it was calorific but hey, once in a while it is nice to indulge. Easy to do and so yummy. Even my husband who can be fussy gave it the thumbs up. I went back for seconds it was so nice. Definitely a recipe I will do again and again. Highly recommended. I decided to do this recipe as my husband had forbidden me to spend too much on the housekeeping so trying to reduce my budget and not buy too much meat, had this instead to feed two hungry men and myself. There was enough for seconds, but they were so full up from the first course I had the rest for my lunch the next day. I served this very rustically with baked beans and fried tomatoes. "

Sea bass with sizzled ginger, chilli & spring onions

    Tested

"This was fantastic. I am always striving for quick and tasty meals. I added some rice noodles just as I put in the spring onions along with the other ingrediants and then served the noodle mixture and placed the fish on top with a few bits of chilli and spring onion to decorate. My husband who is not a fish lover said it was amazing and was almost like 'masterchef'. We will definitely be having this again. Can't recommend it highly enough"
