"Really easy to make, and the ingredients are mostly storecupboard. Cooked for 1 and 3/4 hours, it probably could have done with about 15 mins left as it was slightly dry. Nice, but not as good as the other apple pudding with sticky toffee sauce that's on this site - I think I prefer to have a sauce on top of the pudding rather than just the fruit."

"Delicious - what a nice, warming pudding for a wet September evening! Found it needed closer to 2 hours to cook through, that was with a constant boiling temperature too. Apples took about 10 mins to get golden. Looks a few steps, but they're really easy to do. I made mine in advance, about 3 hours before I started to cook it and it was fine. Got 6 greedy portions out of it!"

Melty onion toasts

"Delish!! Loved these, made it for a light lunch one day and was so impressed by the taste am planning to turn it into my Easter starter. Managed to scale it down for 2 by using 3 onions (had a bit left over). Onions became really sweet and the brandy made it feel really indulgent."

"Really easy to make. Mine cracked on cooling, but was covered by the sauce and extra raspberries. Would add extra icing sugar to the sauce as was quite tart. Used frozen raspberries (frozen in recipe but defrosted for topping) as a cheaper alternative."
