Classic scones with jam & clotted cream

"I've made these several times. This is the best scones recipe. Light and fluffy with a hint of sweet. I could eat them as is without any cream or jam. Took me less then 5 minutes to put everything together and it's funny as I actually had buttermilk in the fridge this time, so I put that in instead of the milk/lemon. Will definitely be making this time and again."

Bubble & squeak cakes

"Very nice. Love bubble and squeak. I mashed up a small swede with the potato and added shredded cabbage instead of sprouts (I ate those separately as I love them so much) and they are so much better after being in the oven for a few minutes to dry out and crisp up."

Lemon & poppyseed cupcakes

"I turned this into a 5" tall cake by making triple the recipe and baking them in three 8" round tins instead. It took 50 minutes on 180 instead of the 20-22 minutes. I iced them with a lemon buttercream (had to make lots) and also stuck fresh raspberries in between the layers. It turned out amazing. Very moist and yummy. Will definitely be adding this to my regular bakes."

"Gorgeous. I made it all in one large casserole dish rather than individual ramekins. I did cover it with foil for the first hour to make sure it cooked through well and then unwrapped it for a nice golden sticky finish. I also added a smattering of nutmeg with the seasoning after each layer. Very well received indeed. Oh, I used horseradish cream. Definitely making this again."

"Minimum effort but great results. I only used normal brown and white button mushrooms and served it with the recommended carrot, parsnip and horseradish gratin. The whole meal won raves all around."
