"This recipe was excellent. I used a leftover carton of pilau rice from a supermarket 'takeaway' meal deal, and just omitted the stock. I also used fresh spinach, which i just added straight to the pan. As a vegetarian i am always on the lookout for tasty, nutritious and easy meals and this will definitely be a keeper. I served it with mango chutney and yogurt, but it would also serve as a good side dish to a curry. Next time i will try it with the uncooked rice."

"These muffins were very good, and i found them more than sweet enough. Only one criticism, and that is using over-ripe bananas makes the muffins come out with a green tinge (presumably because the bananas blacken on cooking) and seems to prevent them rising as far as a muffin should. I used raspberries instead of blueberries. might try date and walnut next time!"

"I would have given this recipe 5 stars if it had been easier to follow, but it seemed to make things more difficult than necessary. I fried the kidney separately first, then threw the onions, floured steak, and mushrooms into the frying pan together with a touch of olive oil to brown them. i then put everything in the slow cooker with a glass of red wine, a splash of water and a veg stock cube. i prepared the pastry and placed that in the fridge. when the slow cooker was done i assembled the pastry over the hot filling and it all cooked very well, my boyfriend loved it. i am veggie, so didn't eat it, but it smelled very comforting!"

"Really tasty and simple recipe. I userd a whole can of tomatoes, 1.5 tbsp of curry paste and added a chopped orange pepper and sliced fresh chilli, and served it with naan, basmati and mango chutney. Cheap meal, but still special enough to serve up for guests."

"Made the mediterranean version of this, with homemade white wine tomato sauce, cod fillets, king prawns and black olives. It was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommended, and great for using up any leftover filo sheets!"
