"Really nice! We had this with salad and bread and it hit the spot on a chilly evening. I might increase the ratio of stock to tomato next time as it was more tomato-y than I expected, but I didn't have any olives so that might've affected that. Added more garlic and black pepper (duh! I hope the recipe writer assumed everyone would know to put it in...). "

"I used spinach instead of carrots (to minimize the stodge-factor) and added a good squeeze of tomato pureé - delicious! You could make this any time; it's comforting and easy enough to whack up on a cold weeknight just for yourself, tastes and looks good enough to impress a loved (or liked) one, and I would imagine it's probably cheap and simple enough to do in one big pot to feed a party. Brilliant. :)"

"We loved this! It was really easy to make (although I had to use common sense when the recipe said "cover until the tomatoes make a thick sauce" - the mixture reduced much better when I uncovered it) and turned out beautifully. I like more control over the flavour so I added various amounts of turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, paprika and ginger instead of curry powder. Lovely. :)"

"I added some chunks of beef to this and it was awesome! Really hearty and healthy, not to mention easy as all get out. It was more than filling enough with a hunk of malty bread. Yum!"

"I loved this! I'm just getting into cooking and this was my first "whoa, I can COOK?" dish. I served it with mash and cabbage instead of broccoli and it was brilliant. Made me feel like a real cook, with minimal effort! "
