"You need an enormous pan to cook the quantities in this recipe! I used a large casserole and couldn't fit all the potato in. I thought it lacked a bit of flavour and was watery. Having done it a second time, I put mixed herbs in, and thickened it with cornflour, even then it was like eating a thick soup because there was so much gravy. I will be making this again, but will be adding more herbs and thickening it more. Might be nice served with some warm crust bread."

"Did this for tea last night, it was lovely! I really liked the 'sauce', it was a lovely texture, and tasted really good. I would definitely do this again."

"I love this recipe, I've done it a few times, and would offer the following advice to those who have had problems with collapsing meatballs........ leave them to get nice and brown before you attempt to turn them. I also prefer to squash each ball down into a little burger shape, making it much easier to cook evenly and turn. In my experience, this is a pretty reliable way of avoiding the frustrating collapse. I serve it with a home made tomato sauce, and it always goes down well, though I would agree that it may not serve 4 adults for a main meal. "

"This is an outright winner, quick and easy, and very very tasty. I used parmesan shavings rather than grated, and the strength of the flavour worked really well. I also use more creme fraiche, about 100mls per portion. My 10 month old loves this dish, he never leaves anything!!!"
