Roasted squash risotto with Wensleydale

"Nice but I thought it was a bit bland. My husband and I had this for lunch two days running. On the second day I used a strong mature cheddar sprinkled on top instead of wensleydale which made it a bit tastier. "

"In reply to Bernies question on 30th September 1 tsp mixed spice is 1 teaspoon of mixed spice! You can buy it in the supermarkets in the spices section. I made this pudding and it went down a treat. I made it exactly as the recipe said and everyone loved it. There's plenty and serves around 8 portions. It's actually better made the day before as when it's hot out of the oven the tops a little crispy. If you leave it overnight the pudding is much stickier on top and absolutely delicious! I'll definately make it again."

Tomato soup

"As a rule a hate tomato soup but I had a glut of tomatoes in the greenhouse that were going to waste so decided to make this for the family. Am I pleased I did, this is the best tomato soup I have ever tasted! Having read the recipe I thought it wouldn't be thick enough so I only used 500ml of stock and I used 1 chicken oxo cube and the same amount of bouillon. It was just the right consistency and absolutely delicious! I can't wait to make the next batch!"

"Very tasty. I used Blandys madeira as I didn't have any sherry. and I also added grated cheddar to the breadcrumb topping. "

Double-baked cheddar soufflés
6 comments
"I made this as a starter at my Valentine dinner party. Whilst in the oven they looked fantastic but as soon as I took them out they flopped! Undetered I baked them for the 2nd time and they did rise again so don't be disheartened if this happens to you. My guests thought they were wonderful. I made 8 small souffles and a big one with the remaining mix which I heated up the next day for lunch. I know what Ros means about the measurements which was trial and error. I will definately make this again."
