" this is exactly as it is titled -the ultimate chocolate cake. I have made it several times and the end result is a sweet , moist and dense chocolate cake that leaves your mouth coated for a long time afterwards. I dont have sweet tooth and I found it a little too sweet so I did cut down the sugar to 300g and it was fine. It is very very chocolatey so even the quantity of chocolate used can be halved. the easiest way to cook it is using a 10 inch square tin tin and just put the ganache on top-serve cut into squares. Once youve made this you will never use another choclate cake recipe-honestly!!"

"i made this on christmas eve.After reading the comments I left out the butter and only used oil. No solid fat at all. tasted sweet tangy and had a little bite with the chilli. Lovely. also very well received as christams presents."

"I made this using only oil and it was delicious. sweet and tangy and had little bite with the chilli. No problems at all with solid fat. I gave some away in little jars as christmas presents and it was very well received"
